Progressive Communications Receives G7 Master Printer Certification

Progressive Communications International (PCI) is now a Certified G7® Master Printer. G7 is a set of best practices for achieving gray balance and visual similarity across all print processes. This method allows certified printers to reproduce a similar visual appearance across printing types and substrates based on ISO standard 12647-2 – which benefits clients by ensuring jobs proof and print with an extreme degree of consistency and predictability.

G7 is named for its gray scale calibration technique (“G”) and the seven ISO ink colors it requires. It breaks from tradition by focusing on gray balance in the mid-tones – rather than dot gain – for each color. The G7 standard was developed by IDEAlliance®, a non-profit industry association guiding and publishing print media methodologies, specifications, and standards.

Attaining G7 Master status is a competitive goal for those throughout the graphic communications supply chain worldwide. Earning G7 qualification signifies that a company uses the most modern technology and techniques required to ensure color consistency throughout the printing process. PCI is one of 10 Certified G7 Master Printers in Florida, and the only one in Central Florida.

“We are very pleased to have achieved this certification,” says Gabriel Hernandez, PCI General Manager. “Our team has worked diligently to take the many steps necessary in this rigorous process, and PCI is now even better positioned than ever to deliver the highest level of quality and service to our clients.”
